Tom and Marie had been married for two years and were finally in a position to tile their kitchen as they had always dreamed. The young couple had finally saved enough money to get the new set of rugs they wanted to put in and were very excited to finish remodeling their home.
When the rugs arrived, they were quickly unpackaged and laid down. Tom and Marie celebrated with a glass of champagne to commemorate the end of their hard, yet rewarding work. Little did they know that their newfound joy would be short lived.

When Tom and Marie arrived at the rendezvous, they came face to face with their buyer. As he turned around, they both saw it was none other than they basketball coach from Tom’s college. He told them he had been out of the game for a while and needed to get back in. He helpfully explained that he dealt in both drugs and sports equipment.
Tom and Marie exchanged a glance, both with the same realization. The money and the drugs must’ve been hidden in their rugs as part of a deal the coach had thought would never come to fruition.
They finally understood why they had gotten such a steal on the rugs. Tom and Marie were lucky they hadn’t been caught in the middle of a drug deal. The two of them were relieved that they were able to get out unscathed.
They took the money, sold the drugs to the coach, and told him they never wanted to see him again. With a little luck on their side, the couple went home and re-laid the clean rugs in their kitchen with no one the wiser.
